Vaccine Requirement before Dental

For safety, all pets must be up to date on core vaccines before any dental cleaning or dental procedure. Rabies must be current.

Dogs

Should be current on Rabies and core canine vaccines.

Cats

Should be current on Rabies and core feline vaccines, unless a veterinarian determines that a medical exemption is appropriate.

Please bring prior vaccine records or have them sent to Anne Arundel Veterinary Hospital before the dental appointment. If vaccine records are unavailable or vaccines are overdue, the veterinarian will discuss vaccine recommendations before scheduling or proceeding with dental care.

Not Included in the Promotional Price

The following services are not included in the promotional price and will be billed separately if recommended or needed:

Pre-anesthetic bloodwork
Dental radiographs / dental X-rays
Tooth extractions
Pain medication
Antibiotics
Medications to go home
Echocardiogram if a heart murmur or heart concern is detected
Additional treatments or procedures
Advanced dental surgery

Important Dental Offer Information

A veterinarian will evaluate your pet to determine whether they are a good candidate for the dental cleaning special.
This offer applies to routine/basic dental cleaning only and is intended for pets who are healthy enough for anesthesia.
For healthy pets up to 6 years old, we may be able to schedule the dental cleaning directly after the exam. In some cases, we may schedule without an initial exam if the owner understands the appointment may need to be rescheduled if periodontal disease, medical concerns, or anesthesia risks are found.
Pets with significant periodontal disease, advanced dental disease, loose teeth, severe tartar, or likely extractions may still qualify for the promotional cleaning price for the cleaning portion only, if approved by the doctor.
Pets needing major dental work, significant extractions, advanced dental treatment, or treatment for significant periodontal disease may need to be scheduled separately for a major dental procedure after the initial/basic cleaning.
Extractions, dental X-rays, bloodwork, medications, antibiotics, and additional treatments are not included in the promotional price and will be billed separately if needed.
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork and dental radiographs are not included and may be required based on your pet's age, medical history, and the doctor's assessment. Bloodwork may be performed on the day of the exam or on the day of the dental procedure and will be an additional charge.
If your pet has a heart murmur or heart concern, an echocardiogram may be recommended before anesthesia.
Dental disease can be more advanced than it appears before anesthesia, and the full extent may not be known until the mouth is fully examined during the procedure.
Routine promotional dental cleanings are scheduled on Mondays and Fridays only.
Pets needing major dental work, significant extractions, advanced dental treatment, or treatment for significant periodontal disease will generally be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
To qualify for promotional pricing, the cleaning must be scheduled within one month of the free dental exam.
This promotion may not be combined with other discounts unless approved by hospital management.

Senior Health Screen Dental Extraction Discount

If a pet receives a Senior Basic Health Screen or Senior Advanced Health Screen, the client will receive 10% off dental extractions only.

This discount applies only to dental extractions and is valid only if the dental extractions are scheduled within one month after using the senior health screen package.
