Thoughtful veterinary care begins with a smooth first visit.
Welcoming New Clients
Anne Arundel Veterinary Hospital is currently welcoming new clients. As a full-service veterinary hospital, our doctors and team are committed to providing attentive, evidence-based care supported by modern diagnostics and clear communication — so you and your pet feel confident from day one.
Whether you're visiting us for preventive care, urgent concerns, or advanced services, our goal is to make your experience organized, respectful of your time, and centered on your pet's well-being.

What to Expect at Your First Visit
Here's what you can expect when you arrive.
Important Appointment Notes
Extended or complex visits: If your pet's appointment is expected to take longer than 30 minutes or involves more in-depth diagnostics or treatment, we may strongly recommend a drop-off appointment. This allows our medical team the time needed to provide thorough, unhurried care while keeping the hospital running smoothly for all patients.
Sedation or calming medications: For any procedures that require sedation or pre-visit calming medications, your pet will need to be scheduled as a drop-off appointment. Our team will review instructions with you in advance and keep you updated throughout the day.
Arrival & Check-In
You'll be greeted warmly by our front desk team and checked in for your appointment. We make every effort to bring you into an exam room promptly.
Parking note: We do not have a dedicated parking lot. Please use street parking and be sure to park along the adjacent avenue. Street parking is typically available, but we recommend allowing a few extra minutes just in case.
Medical History & Intake
A veterinary technician will begin by reviewing your pet's medical history, current concerns, and reason for the visit. This helps ensure the veterinarian has a complete picture before the exam.
Veterinary Examination
One of our veterinarians will examine your pet, discuss findings with you, and recommend any diagnostics or treatment if needed. Many tests can be performed in-house, allowing for timely answers.
Clear Communication
This is your time to ask questions. We'll walk you through results, options, and recommendations in a clear, practical way — so you feel informed and comfortable with next steps.
Follow-Up & Checkout
A technician or team member will review care instructions, medications, or preventive guidance. Our client care staff will then assist with payment and schedule any follow-up visits if needed.
Our Commitment
We respect your time and strive to stay on schedule. While emergencies can occasionally cause delays, we work hard to minimize disruptions and keep you informed.
